This course will increase your understanding of learning, uplift your teaching skills and help you craft your course for the best outcomes for your learners.The four modules are intended to help you gain a more in-depth understanding of the learner, learning outcomes, assessment and feedback, and instructional design. This will enable learners to choose appropriate strategies to foster their own learning and help teachers design their courses using effective strategies. Example of technology tools that can be used for instructional design and assessment are provided.

This module intends to help gain a more in-depth understanding of the learner and how they learn. This helps both learners and teachers identify strategies to incorporate in their learning practice and curriculum design.

Self Determination Theory and how to cultivate internal motivation
Cognitive Load Theory and how not to overload the learner’s brain capacity
Experiential Learning and its benefits
Mindset, how it affects teaching and learning and how to help foster a Growth Mindset
Meaningful Learning and how learning is situated
Metacognition and how it can improve learning
The Professional Learner and how to continuously develop
