This course will increase your understanding of learning, uplift your teaching skills and help you craft your course for the best outcomes of your learners. The 4 modules intend to help gain a more in depth understanding of the learner, learning outcomes, assessment and feedback, and instructional design. This will enable learners to choose appropriate strategies to foster their own learning and enable teachers to design their course by choosing appropriate strategies to foster learning. Example of technology tools that can be used for instructional design and assessment are provided.

The 4 modules consist of:

  • Module 1. How do learners learn?

  • Module 2. Intended learning outcomes

  • Module 3. Assessment and feedback

  • Module 4. Instructional design

Module 3. Assessment and feedback

This module intends to help gain a more in depth understanding of principles of assessment and feedback to nurture the learner’s learning.

Learners will be able to gain appreciation of:

  • Standard Setting and the concept of determining passing levels

  • Grading and the concept of differentiating learners

  • Assessment as/ for/ of Learning and how assessments can be more beneficial

  • Reflection and Feedback and how to engage and strengthen learning

  • Programmatic Assessment and how to assess the learner’s competency in multiple dimensions to enrich learning
